Questions, answered.

What happens if an item gets damaged?

An owner can file a damage claim within 24 hours after the booking records the return through owner confirmation or automatic completion. Rendita decides whether to approve a charge based on submitted evidence after notifying the renter and giving them time to respond.

How does the security deposit work?

Some listings have an owner-set deposit. Rendita saves your card for that amount. A deposit charge is part of approving an eligible damage claim.

How do I know I can trust the other person?

Users verify their identity before listing an item or confirming a booking. You can check ratings and reviews before booking, and keep booking messages in Rendita.

How do payments work?

Your card is authorized at checkout. When the owner accepts, it is charged then or shortly before pickup, depending on the booking. Stripe processes the payment and adds the owner's share to their connected account. Rendita releases it from that Stripe balance to the owner's bank 24 hours after the rental completes, starting 30 days after an owner's first rental payment.

How do I get the item once I book?

Each listing offers pickup, delivery, or both, and shows any delivery fee before you book. A listing shows an approximate area, not the exact address. The owner shares the address when they accept your request, and you settle a time in booking messages.
